After breakfast, we will drive to the Machame Gate, the starting point of our trek. The trail begins in lush rainforest, where you will be surrounded by towering trees and a symphony of bird calls. As we ascend, the vegetation gradually changes, and after approximately 6 hours of trekking, we will reach Machame Camp, our home for the night. Keep an eye out for colobus monkeys and exotic bird species along the way. Today is the day we've all been waiting for – summit day! We start our ascent in the early hours of the morning, hiking by the light of our headlamps as we make our way towards the summit. As the sun rises, we reach Stella Point, where we are greeted by breathtaking views of the sunrise over the African plains. From there, it's a final push to Uhuru Peak, the highest point on Mount Kilimanjaro. After celebrating our achievement and soaking in the views, we begin our descent back to Barafu Camp for a well-deserved rest before continuing on to Mweka Camp.
