Itinerary
After an early breakfast, we will drive to the Rongai Gate, the starting point of our adventure. The trek begins through dense rainforests teeming with exotic flora and fauna. As we ascend, the temperature gradually drops, offering relief from the tropical heat. After approximately 6-7 hours of trekking, we will reach Simba Camp, our first overnight stop. Nestled amidst the lush vegetation, it provides a tranquil setting to unwind and prepare for the days ahead.

Today's journey takes us further into the wilderness as we leave the rainforest behind and enter the heath and moorland zone. The landscape becomes more rugged, with rocky terrain and sparse vegetation. Trekking for about 4-5 hours, we will arrive at Second Cave, where we will spend the night. Enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding landscape as you acclimatize to the increasing altitude.

As we continue our ascent, the scenery transforms once again, offering panoramic vistas of the vast plains below. The trail winds its way through alpine desert, characterized by barren slopes and volcanic rocks. After approximately 4-5 hours of trekking, we will reach Third Cave, our resting point for the night. Take in the awe-inspiring beauty of the mountain as you prepare for the final push to the summit.

Today's trek is challenging as we make our way towards Kibo Hut, the last camp before the summit. The terrain is steep and rocky, requiring determination and perseverance. Trekking for around 5-6 hours, we will reach Kibo Hut, situated at an altitude of approximately 4,700 meters. Here, we will rest and refuel, preparing ourselves mentally and physically for the demanding summit ascent.

The summit day begins in the early hours of the morning, under the blanket of darkness. With headlamps illuminating the way, we will embark on the final ascent to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. As the sun rises, painting the sky with vibrant hues, we will reach the summit, a moment of triumph and jubilation. After soaking in the breathtaking views, we will begin our descent back to Kibo Hut and further down to Horombo Hut, where we will spend the night, celebrating our achievement.

Our descent continues as we make our way back through the alpine desert and moorland zones. Descending through lush forests, we will reach Mandara Hut, where we will enjoy a final lunch on the mountain. From there, it's a leisurely hike to Marangu Gate, where we will bid farewell to Kilimanjaro and receive certificates of accomplishment. Afterward, we will transfer back to Moshi or Arusha, where hot showers and comfortable beds await.
