After a hearty breakfast, we embark on our journey to Londorossi Gate, the entrance to Kilimanjaro National Park. Here, amidst lush rainforests, we begin our ascent towards Big Tree Camp. Trekking through dense vegetation, you will marvel at the diverse flora and fauna that call this region home. Keep an eye out for colobus monkeys swinging through the trees as you settle in for your first night under the stars. Along the way, you will encounter unique flora adapted to the harsh alpine environment, including giant lobelias and senecios. Take in panoramic views of the surrounding plains as you acclimatize to the increasing altitude. As we gain altitude, the air thins and the landscape becomes increasingly rugged. Our destination for the night is Moir Hut, perched on a ridge with commanding views of the surrounding valleys and glaciers. Keep an eye out for elusive mountain wildlife such as the endemic Kilimanjaro tree hyrax. Along the way, we pass through picturesque valleys dotted with giant groundsel and lobelia plants. Our camp for the night is Buffalo Camp, nestled beneath the towering cliffs of the Barranco Wall. Take time to rest and replenish your energy for the challenges that lie ahead.

Our journey continues as we make our way towards Third Cave, traversing rocky terrain and high-altitude plateaus. As we gain altitude, the air becomes thinner, posing a challenge to even the most seasoned trekkers. Arriving at Third Cave, take time to rest and acclimatize before pushing onwards towards the summit.

With the summit in sight, we press onwards towards School Hut, our final camp before the summit push. As we near School Hut, take time to rest and prepare for the challenging ascent to Uhuru Peak. Tonight, we will dine under the stars, fueling our bodies for the final push to the summit. The moment we've all been waiting for has arrived—summit day. In the early hours of the morning, we begin our ascent towards Uhuru Peak, the highest point on the African continent. With the stars overhead and the glow of the rising sun on the horizon, we push onwards, one step at a time. As we reach the summit, emotions run high as we celebrate our achievement and take in the breathtaking views stretching as far as the eye can see. After capturing memories that will last a lifetime, we begin our descent towards Mweka Camp, where hot meals and warm beds await. Temperature: -10-0°C (14-32°F) Trekking Hours: 10-12 hours Length: Approximately 19 kilometers (11.8 miles) ascent, 7 kilometers (4.3 miles) descent Height: Summit at 5,895 meters (19,341 feet), Mweka Camp at 3,100 meters (10,170 feet) Nature Vegetation: Alpine desert, with snow and ice at higher elevations.
